Since the beginning of history, man has been associated with this good land with the sea, and it has become the life that provides livelihood and work. The geographical nature of Bahrain and its strategic location at the same time was a strong basis for the establishment of a strong relationship between the people of Bahrain and the coast of the sea and the sea, and as a result of this interest, the Bahraini person has protected the coasts with fleets and ships equipped with men, loaded with weapons to ward off dangers, and this is evidenced by the battles that the people of Bahrain fought In defense of their safe land, and their prosperous civilization.
The preliminary studies that were carried out with the beginning of the formation of the Bahrain Defense Force have proven the inevitability of finding an effective naval weapon, with a high degree of efficiency and competence, to perform its duty to the fullest. To maintain the security and safety of the country.
The first step was to prepare qualified national cadres, including officers, engineers, administrators and technicians, by sending the first batch of these cadres in 1974 to study the various maritime disciplines.

 

On March 20, 1979, the Kingdom of Bahrain inaugurated its first warship, the Al Zubara ship, in a ceremony held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Great King of the country, the Supreme Commander, may God protect him. His Majesty said on this occasion: (Here we are. We see the good beginning with the latest that can be obtained, by the grace of God and by the wise and rational leadership of what is good for the service of our Islam, our Arabism and our strength).
Days pass and work is progressing in full swing in implementing the goals set by the General Command - cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ for the Bahrain Defense Force to form and build this important weapon. As a culmination of the Bahrain Defense Force’s celebrations of its fifteenth anniversary, on February 5, 1983, three warships were inaugurated under the auspices of the Great King of the country, the Supreme Commander, in support of the role played by the Royal Bahraini Navy, and to complement the role played by the Royal Bahraini Navy. For the first phase of the march of building this weapon, and on February 5, 1984 AD, and on the occasion of the celebration of the 16th Bahrain Defense Force Day, the late His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may God have mercy on him, inaugurated the missile ship (Ahmed Al-Fateh).

Within the framework of the development and modernization process that goes along with the plan to develop the Royal Bahraini Naval Force, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Great King of the country, the Supreme Commander, may God protect him, on the seventh of February 1985 AD, and on the occasion of the celebration of the Seventeenth Defense Force Day, inaugurated the ship of the Kingdom of Bahrain ( Al-Jabri).

On the occasion of the 19th Bahrain Defense Force Day, and on the 21st of April 1987 AD, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Great, Supreme Commander of the country, may God protect him, inaugurated the missile ship (Abdullah Al-Fadil).
On February 3, 1988, the Royal Bahraini Navy witnessed an important quantum leap, as the late His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may God rest his soul, inaugurated the two missile ships: (Manama and Muharraq), which are among the most modern warships, capable of carrying helicopters. This event had a great impact and admiration beyond all imagination. This is what the Royal Bahraini Navy members showed of their skill in performing the duty, and elaborate training of their quality, very proficient.
And with the continuation of the process of modernization and development of the Royal Bahraini Navy. The twenty-second day of the Bahrain Defense Force was celebrated, and on February 5, 1990, the warship (Al Taweelah), which was considered one of the most modern pieces of war in the Royal Bahraini Navy, was inaugurated due to its modern technologies.
The role of the Royal Bahraini Navy has emerged through its participation in the international effort to secure the maritime trade line, and escorting commercial ships to and from the territorial waters of the sisterly State of Kuwait after the war of liberation, in confirmation of the close brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries.

Thus, the course of work in the Royal Bahraini Navy continues with all perseverance and activity, in which the workers derive their resolve from God Almighty, and from officials who spare no effort to develop their capabilities, and to provide every modern and new weapon to assume pride and love for this generous country, and for the sponsor of its renaissance and the leader of its path, Hazrat Sahib His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Great King of the country, the Supreme Leader, may God protect him and protect him.The frigate (Sabha) project, where this project began with multiple training programs to qualify cadres, and these programs included various technical disciplines, and it arrived on the homeland on July 9, 1997 AD, the ship of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the frigate (Sabha) after it crossed the largest oceans in the world and docked in many ports. A large celebration was held on this occasion, with the participation of many official and popular parties.On the morning of Monday, July 21, 1997, the late His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may his soul rest in peace, included, under his generous patronage, the celebration of the inauguration of the frigate (Sabha), marking its entry into service in the Royal Bahraini Naval Force. Various weapons and units of the Bahrain Defense Force. On the basis of fruitful and constructive cooperation between the Bahrain Defense Force and the friendly coalition forces in the defense field and military coordination to serve security and stability issues in the region, the Royal Bahraini Navy has received the responsibility of commanding the Joint Duty Force (152) from the Central Naval Forces (the Fifth Fleet), and this is an achievement. Historic and a precedent for the Kingdom of Bahrain represented by the Royal Bahraini Navy, as it is the first Arab country to be assigned the command of the Joint Duty Force (152) of the international coalition forces under the umbrella of the United Nations operating in the middle and south of the Arabian Gulf. The Royal Bahraini Navy also participated in the task force. Joint 151 of the international coalition forces under the umbrella of the United Nations in the Gulf of Aden.The Royal Bahraini Navy includes a number of modern transport ships “Dinar” and “Al-Hamra”, in addition to the sailing training ship “Al-Budaiya”.
