تسلمت مملكة البحرين ممثلة بسلاح الجو الملكي البحريني لقوة دفاع البحرين أول طائرة مقاتلة من نوع أف 16 بلوك 70 (F-16 Block 70) وهي من أحدث الطائرات المقاتلة ومملكة البحرين هي الدولة الأولى من بين دول العالم والمنطقة بالتحديد التي ستتزود بهذا الطراز من مقاتلات أف 16المتقدمة والمتطورة في منظومتها التسليحية، ضمن اسراب سلاح الجو الملكي البحريني، ويأتي ذلك تجسيداً للرؤى الحكيمة والتوجيهات السامية من لدن حضرة صاحب الجلالة الملك حمد بن عيسى آل خليفة ملك البلاد المعظم القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة حفظه الله ورعاه، ضمن برنامج التحديث والتطوير المستمر لقوة دفاع البحرين، والرعاية الدائمة والمستمرة من صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير سلمان بن حمد آل خليفة ولي العهد نائب القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حفظه الله.

وبهذه المناسبة أكد صاحب المعالي المشير الركن الشيخ خليفة بن أحمد آل خليفة القائد العام لقوة دفاع البحرين أن لتلك الرؤى الحكيمة والتوجيهات السامية السديدة من لدن حضرة صاحب الجلالة ملك البلاد المعظم القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة حفظه الله ورعاه، والرعاية الدائمة والمستمرة من لدن صاحب السمو الملكي ولي العهد نائب القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حفظه الله، أصبح سلاح الجو الملكي البحريني اليوم أحد ركائز القوة الأساسية للوطن، وذلك لما وصلت إليه كافة أجنحته واسرابه ومنظوماته من تقدم وتطور وتكامل على مختلف الأصعدة والمستويات، ولله الحمد حقق جميع رجاله بكفاءتهم وخبراتهم من الطيارين والمهندسين والفنيين والمدربين أعلى مستويات الاحترافية في مختلف العمليات الجوية، وسطروا أروع أمثلة البذل والتضحية في سبيل الدفاع عن مملكتنا الغالية، وحماية مكتسباتها ومنجزاتها الحضارية حتى أصبح هذا السلاح منظومة عسكرية متكاملة ومتقدمة وفق أحدث الاستراتيجيات.

وأضاف صاحب المعالي القائد العام لقوة دفاع البحرين أن سلاح الجو الملكي البحريني يضم اليوم أحدث الطائرات الحربية المقاتلة المتطورة، وطائرات النقل الجوي الحديثة، والطائرات العمودية المتقدمة، ويمثل دخول أحدث نسخة من الطائرة المقاتلة من نوع أف 16 بلوك 70 (F-16 Block 70) التي تتميز بقدرات أمنية وقتالية متقدمة، إضافة نوعية مهمة إلى سلاح الجو الملكي البحريني، لكونها الأكثر تطوراً والأحدث من طراز هذا النوع للطائرات المقاتلة في ترسانة السلاح الجوي في العالم لما تتطلبه الظروف الراهنة من تسليح جوي معاصر لمواجهة تحديات القرن الحالي.

هذا وقد شهد حفل المراسم الرسمية لتسليم الطائرات صباح يوم الجمعة 10 مارس 2023م اللواء الركن طيار الشيخ حمد بن عبدالله آل خليفة قائد سلاح الجو الملكي البحريني والوفد المرافق له، في مقر الشركة المصنعة لوكهيد مارتن بولاية كارولينا الجنوبية بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية الصديقة وهي أحد أكبر الشركات الرائدة على مستوى العالم في مجال التجهيزات والمعدات العسكرية، كما حضر حفل التسليم العميد الركن بحري جاسم عبدالله الجودر الملحق العسكري بسفارة مملكة البحرين بواشنطن، وعدد من كبار ضباط قوة دفاع البحرين.

Bahrain first country in the world to receive F-16 Block 70 aircraft

The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the Royal Bahraini Air Force (RBAF) of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), has been handed over the first "F-16 Block 70" fighter jet, which is one of the latest combat aircraft produced by the global security and aerospace company, Lockheed Martin .

The kingdom has officially become the first country in the region and the world to have received such a highly-equipped and advanced combat aircraft, which will join other RBAF's jets.

The move embodies the wise visions and sound directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, within the ongoing modernisation and development of the BDF, and the permanent and continuous support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister.

On the occasion, BDF Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, affirmed that thanks to the wise visions and directives of HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the unwavering care of HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, the RBAF has become one of the main pillars of the nation's strength, as all its squadrons and systems have achieved progress, development, and integration at various levels, adding that all RBAF's competent and experienced personnel, including pilots, engineers, technicians, and trainers, have achieved the highest levels of professionalism in various air operations, and set the best examples of devotion and sacrifice in order to defend the homeland and protect its gains and civilisational achievements.

He added that thanks to its continuous development, RBAF now boasts an integrated and advanced military system according to the latest strategies.

The BDF chief indicated that the Royal Bahraini Air Force today includes the latest advanced combat aircraft, modern air transport aircraft, and advanced helicopters, noting that the introduction of F-16 Block 70, which is characterised by its advanced security and combat capabilities, is an important qualitative addition to the RBAF.

He added that F-16 Block 70 is needed in the arsenal of the air forces in the world due to the current circumstances requiring contemporary air armament to meet the challenges of the current century.

RBAF Commander, Air Vice-Marshal Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and his accompanying delegation, attended the handover ceremony of F-16 Block 70 aircraft at the Lockheed Martin Company's factory in Greenville, South Carolina, held on Friday, March 10.

Defence Attaché at the Bahraini Embassy in Washington, Commodore Jassim Abdulla Al-Jowdar, and a number of senior BDF officers were also present.
